
SUE IS AN ACCOMPLISHED ATTORNEY
In 1997, Sue earned her Juris Doctorate, Cum Laude, from Stetson University College of Law in St. Petersburg, Florida. During that same year, she worked as a legal intern with U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Florida where she researched, drafted memoranda, and reviewed legal files related to various civil lawsuits against the United States. Upon graduation from law school, Sue enrolled in the LL.M. Taxation program at Georgetown University Law Center, which she completed in 1998.
Shortly after graduation, Sue was hired as a Policy Assistant (Legal) in the Office of U.S. Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich. While in that position, Sue was responsible for all legal research within former House Speaker Newt Gingrich’s Policy Office.
From 1998 to 2001, Sue was an Associate with the New York City law firm Hawkins, Delafield & Wood. While in that role, she gained sophisticated transactional experience in the field of public finance law. She participated in the legal representation of governmental entities, public authorities, and private entities from the perspective of bond and underwriter’s counsel which included the representation of a public authority in connection with a $967,000,000 nuclear power plant sale.
In 2005, Sue joined the Connecticut Division of Criminal Justice in the Office of the State’s Attorney, where she currently serves in the Statewide Prosecution Bureau. Sue represents the State from both an investigative and prosecutorial perspective with respect to a wide range of complex Part A and Part B cases, often involving numerous jurisdictions and co-defendants. She has handles a vast caseload involving crimes such as human trafficking, home invasion, racketeering, larceny, securities violations, assault, sexual assault, and cases involving firearms and narcotics.
