SUE SERVED ON THE STAFF OF U.S. HOUSE SPEAKER NEWT GINGRICH
Shortly after graduating from Law School, Sue joined the staff of Speaker of the House of Representatives Newt Gingrich.
As a member of the Policy Office Staff, Sue was primarily responsible for researching inquiries from the Speaker and his staff on pending legislation and constitutional issues stemming from House proceedings. She was also tasked with analyzing legal issues with respect to policy alternatives and making recommendations to the policy staff.
The work was extremely fast-paced and extremely rewarding. Sue fondly recalls the time that she served in the U.S. Speakers Office as one of the greatest honors of her professional career.
Sue recalls fondly that Speaker Gingrich told her that he would like to see her elected to office one day. On January 25, 2018, Speaker Gingrich endorsed Sue Hatfield to be elected Connecticut's next Attorney General.
